Champlin’s Hotel, Marina & Resort adds to TPG’s expanding portfolio of boutique, independent, and one-of-a-kind destinations – property to undergo substantial renovation and modernization effort.

 

January 5, 2021 (Providence, RI) – TPG Resorts & Marinas, an affiliate of Procaccianti Companies, the nation’s premier privately-held real estate investment and services organization, today announced that it has acquired the iconic Champlin’s Hotel, Marina & Resort located at 80 West Side Road, New Shoreham, Rhode Island. The property is situated in the remarkable natural setting of Great Salt Pond on Block Island and features a 47-room hotel, a restaurant and bar with panoramic water views, a dockside tiki bar, a coffee shop, a snack bar, a private beach and a 150-slip marina with fuel operations.

Champlin’s is at the heart of Block Island’s Great Salt Pond, one of New England’s most popular harbors. Upon entering The Great Salt Pond, the first and largest marina on your starboard side is Champlin’s Marina, Hotel and Resort. With a 30′ harbor depth and spacious docking facilities, Champlin’s Marina can comfortably accommodate 250′ boats including deep draft ocean going yachts up to 300 feet. Champlin’s Resort features water-view and island-view guestrooms all with private bathrooms as well as spacious, comfortable kitchenette suites. The suites are perfect for families with children or couples wanting more spacious accommodations as they include a separate living room with a queen sofa bed, dining area and a kitchenette.

 

The firm will embark on an extensive property improvement plan which will include resort-wide modernization of all front and back of house technology, lodging and slip reservation systems, full renovations of the resort’s mechanical systems as well as complete redesign and renovations to the guest rooms, food and beverage outlets and public space. Additional renovations and improvements are planned for the marina facilities.
