PROCACCIANTI COMPANIES TO DEVELOP FIRST NEW HOTEL IN NEW ORLEAN’S FRENCH QUARTER IN OVER 50 YEARS

Vacant, Former Sugar Plant to be Transformed into Iconic 82-Room Modern-Luxury Hotel

February 2019 (Providence, RI) – Procaccianti Companies, the nation’s premier privately-held real estate investment and services organization, today announced that it has inked a deal to deliver the first new hotel to New Orleans Historic French Quarter in more than 50 years. In a joint venture with a New Orleans’s based real estate firm, the company will reinvent the currently dormant seven-story property located at 111 Iberville Ave. New Orleans, LO.

The adaptive reuse development will be characterized by a distinctive, ‘New-Stalgic’ modern-luxury concept that will showcase the property’s historic elements inside and out, while incorporating a trendy and modern design crafted with contemporary attributes and chic finishes.

Once the home of the old Louisiana Sugar and Refining Co., the building will include 82 modernized guest rooms and a high-end lobby bar serving drinks and lite fare. The completely reinvented property will also feature two luxurious, oversized roof-top suites that will also be utilized as event space featuring unparalleled views of the French Quarter, the Mississippi River, and the Woldenberg Park complex.

The Vieux Carré, as the French Quarter is also known, is an 85-block area of New Orleans dating back to the early 1700’s when the city was founded by French explorers. Transformational projects such as the airport renovation will continue to positively change the landscape of the city, and the city’s Tercentennial this year will call national attention to its renewed economic vibrancy.
